Client: an international website with adult (18+) content, available in English and several other languages. It offers online services and tools for an adult audience.
Audience: adult users from all over the world, mostly from the US, followed by France, Spain, Germany, Italy and Canada.
Goal: a steady flow of Google visitors from foreign markets.
Adult content is one of the toughest niches for SEO. There are two reasons:
- Heavy ad restrictions: ad platforms are usually limited in this niche, so organic search often plays the main role.
- Fierce competition: people search for the same topics in many countries at once.
The site also started from a low base: according to Ahrefs, fewer than 20 of its pages appeared in search results in spring 2025.
Where the clicks come from
The site gets clicks from all over the world. A single English page can appear to people in dozens of countries, and every country has its own habits and its own search volume.
The US brought in about a quarter of all clicks. The highest click-through rates are in Italy (47%), Poland (40%) and France (37%).
A slow start, then 4x growth
Here is how it went:
- Implementation: once the strategy was approved, we started rolling it out. It took roughly two to three months after work began for growth to show.
- Growth: Ahrefs shows the number of pages in search results starting to rise in mid-August, speeding up from mid-September and jumping sharply from the end of September.
What the numbers show
The site already had Google traffic before we started: on Jul 20 it was around 800 clicks a day. By the end of October (Oct 22) it reached about 3,300 clicks a day, roughly four times the July level.
Ahrefs shows the same picture: the number of keywords in the top 10 grew from a few dozen in early September to 246 on Oct 23, 2025, of which 47 ranked in positions 1–3. The number of pages in search results reached 129.
What we did
This was a multilingual project built on generation, algorithms and scaling.
Step by step
We picked the steps with the biggest impact. We split them into sprints, so the client never paid for anything extra.
One page = one intent
Each of the 10 main topics got its own English sales page. The pages were built in a content sprint, so Google can easily tell which page answers which query.
The foundation was keyword analysis, meaning finding out what people actually search for. We then connected the pages with internal links.
English-language links
The site needs Google’s trust. That is why the link sprint produced 10 PR articles in English.
Each one points to a single specific page. We added the articles gradually, in line with the client’s budget.
Every country is its own market
The same query is ranked separately in each country. In Ahrefs we can see that a different country is strongest for different keywords: the US, Germany, Canada, France, Mexico, India or Poland.
We use English as the common language and track results by country. You can read more about our approach on the SEO services page.
