The “3×” figure comes from the owner’s Google review. He didn’t specify what exactly improved (visits, guests, revenue). There were no analytics before we started.

Client: a kebab bistro in Prague that cooks with quality ingredients and serves kebab in several forms.

Goal: to make the bistro easy to find on Google for people searching for kebab in Prague and the surrounding districts.

What we were aiming for

Thousands of people search for kebab in Prague every month, and many places compete for the top spots.

  • Guests from nearby: they search for kebab in Dejvice, Kobylisy, or Prague 6 and 8.
  • Undecided guests: they are still deciding where to get the best kebab in Prague.
“He completely redid our website so that it matches the search algorithms exactly. A few months after launch, we’re getting 3 times better results than in the same period last year.”

What we did

The scope was deliberately small and focused on the pages meant to bring in guests.

We prepared a plan and briefs for 10 pages (6 articles and 4 local pages, including language versions). The client published the pages. According to him, results improved even at this scale.

Why local pages for districts

Someone searching for “kebab dejvice” (kebab Dejvice) wants to know where to eat nearby. A page for a specific district answers exactly that intent.

That is what local SEO is about.

Why informational articles too

Some people don’t yet know where they will go. They search for “nejlepší kebab” (best kebab) or “druhy kebabu” (types of kebab) and decide based on what they find.

An article on such a topic can be a guest’s first contact with the bistro and link to a local page. That is how content marketing works.

Why start with specific queries

Broad queries are the most competitive, and progress on them takes the longest. So alongside the main query “kebab praha,” we started with queries for specific districts and with “nejlepší kebab v praze.” Fewer people search for them, but the intent is clear.

Data from the tools

Collabim: “Hledanost Google” (Google search volume) = average number of searches per month over 12 months, “Pozice Google CZ” (Google CZ position) = current position, with the change from the previous measurement in parentheses. On the right is the page that answers the query.
Google Search Console, top queries: clicks = how many times guests clicked through to the site, impressions = how many times the site appeared in results, CTR = share of impressions that led to a click, position = average across all impressions, which is why it differs from Collabim, which shows the position on a specific measurement day.
