Hair transplant clinic: monthly traffic grew from 178 to 1,923 visitors

How do you put a website with minimal traffic and poor search visibility in the spotlight and grow its monthly visits more than tenfold? Read this case study to learn our SEO agency’s recipe for online success.

Our client

Our client runs a private plastic and aesthetic surgery clinic offering a wide range of procedures. To give hair transplants in particular more exposure online, the client launched a dedicated website. At first, though, it brought in few visits and even fewer bookings.

So the client hired us as SEO consultants to turn things around.

Our plan for the client’s website

Right from the start, it was clear that the first priority was to optimize and build out the landing pages for commercial queries.

But hair transplants are a topic with a huge number of informational searches, so it would have been a mistake not to reach the wider audience that wants to learn more about it.

So our content work covered both the service pages and blog posts that explore hair transplants, hair loss, and hair health in more detail.

New content usually needs quality backlinks to get noticed, which is why few SEO campaigns can do without link building.

It’s no secret that SEO rests on quality content and links. But what kind of content and which links would the client’s website need?

And in what order should the work be done to get the best results? We could only answer that after drawing up a proper SEO strategy, and the success of the whole campaign stands or falls on it.

Our agency has its own set of processes for each phase, which we call sprints. A project usually starts with a strategic sprint, which sets the direction for the next two: the content sprint and the link sprint.

We walked the client through the best approach and recommended starting with a strategic sprint. Once the client approved, we got to work.

Want to know how our sprints can help you catch up with competitors in search and start generating profit online?

How we optimized the website

Strategic plan

Initial analysis

We usually kick off with what we call a strategic sprint, which lays the groundwork for the sprints that follow.

The strategic sprint itself began with an audit of the client’s website. We checked that nothing on the site was stopping search engines from crawling its pages, analyzed how keywords were distributed across the pages, and reviewed whether those pages had suitable content.

We also analyzed competitors’ websites to find more room for improvement on the client’s site.

Fixing technical issues

An initial audit usually uncovers a number of technical issues, and fixing them was also part of this strategic sprint. That way, we could be sure they wouldn’t slow down the rest of our work.

Planning the next steps

The analysis gave us all the data we needed to plan the next stage of work on content and backlinks. The client approved the plan and left its execution to us, so nothing stood in the way of our next sprint.

Content creation

Content analysis

We do a basic content analysis as early as the strategic sprint, but the content sprint is where we really dig into the details. Here, too, we examined the content on each page from different angles: how useful, informative, and persuasive it was, whether it had the right format, and which keywords it contained.

Keyword comparison

We compared the keywords on the client’s site with those on competitors’ sites and found many keywords with strong content potential that the client’s website had been missing.

Content creation plan

Based on this keyword research, we drew up a plan for new content. It included detailed briefs specifying what type of content to write, which keywords to use, and in what order to create it for maximum effect.

Writing the content

Following the plan, we started writing. We covered not only commercial copy for the service pages but also informational content, so we could target queries across the entire marketing funnel.

We ran the content sprint several more times to achieve maximum content coverage.

Link building

Building backlinks

Quality backlinks are practically essential for promoting a website effectively. We identified a number of relevant, authoritative websites where links to the client’s pages could be placed. We wrote a series of topical articles containing those links and negotiated their placement on these sites, which raised the authority of the client’s website as well.

We also spread link building across several link sprints for maximum results.

What did it all lead to?

The results of our SEO services soon became visible, and their impact kept growing over time, as the data below shows.

The client’s website finally started doing what it was built for: generating bookings through more traffic from its target audience and better visibility in search engines.
