Client: a cleaning company in Prague. It cleans homes, offices and shared areas of apartment buildings, washes windows and cleans sofas and carpets.
Customers: people and businesses in Prague who search Google for the service when they need it.
Many important queries started on pages 3 to 6 of Google, where almost nobody clicks through.
From page 5 of Google to page 1
People mostly click on the first page of Google, which means positions 1–10. These are queries with real orders behind them: a service, a price or Prague.
What we did
First we analyzed the website to find what was holding back its growth. Here is what we did about it:
From a long list of issues we picked the steps with the biggest impact and split them into sprints.
The website as a hub
Internal links connect services and districts, and they tell Google which pages matter most. In the strategy we also planned an informational section for the next stage of growth: how-to guides, comparisons and cleaning by occasion.
Ordering and advice in one place
Commercial pagesI want to order
In the order they were created.
Informational contentI need advice
In the strategy for further growth.
Main services first, districts later
General queries like “úklidová firma” (cleaning company) are the most competitive and take the longest to move. So we worked in waves:
- December 2022: pages for high-volume services, such as home cleaning, window washing and sofa cleaning.
- Summer 2023: all 15 “Cleaning Prague 1–15” pages and further services (deep and regular cleaning, ironing, disinfection, housekeeper Prague).
In content sprints this produced about 30 pages. This approach is known as local SEO.
Example: the query “paní na úklid cena” was at position 46.5 in January 2023, 6.3 in February and 1.8 in September.
Links
We added links (PR articles) gradually in link sprints, based on quality and within the limits of the client’s budget.
